Part
I Sept. 15-27, 2007 Castles, Classes and Customs After
spending some time in Madrid we head north to the small medieval
town of Olite in the Pyrenees region. We stay at a restored
castle for several days while we learn Spanish and explore
the surrounding areas including
Pamplona, one of Hemingway's hangouts and famous for the running
of the bulls.

Part
II Sept.22-Oct. 6, 2007 The Pilgrimage
The Road to Santiago has been traveled by pilgrims for over
1000 years. It meanders over mostly level ground, through some
of Spain's most beautiful and ancient land. Our
journey focuses on the regions of Navarra and Rioja. Both areas
are rich in history and architecture, including La Puente de
la Reina (shown), and both are famous for their wines and gastronomy.
Whether you walk every day or only sometimes, you'll be part
of a timeless journey where the well worn stones, centuries
old bridges, churches, and monasteries will captivate your spirit
and connect you to the mysteries intrinsic to this ancient path.

The
Parador backs on to the palace-castle, which has been declared
a National Monument. On the banks of the River Cidacos, strategically
located on the plains, Olite is situated 5 km from Tafalla.
The comfortable facilities of the parador blend in with the
medieval characteristics of the castle, allowing the past
and present to exist in harmony.
